It's worth the price of admission

By Gary;

I am a few days late, but no force could keep me away from the Batman vs Superman film.

Zack Snyder is one of my favorite directors with films like Dawn of the Dead (2004), 300 (2007) and Watchmen (2009).

Though I disliked his Man of Steel, repeated viewings have brought me around.

My main complaint with Batman vs Superman is an excess of characters and minor sub-plots eating up screen time and making the film too long.  Lop off 15 minutes from the slow front end of the film, and add that time to the back end action climax would have been better.

With that needed trimming the film is very watchable.

Ben Affleck is a surprisingly good Batman and Henry Cavill rocks as Superman. Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman character was not developed well or perhaps she does not have the needed screen presence. When her own Wonder Woman film comes out in 2017 we will see which it is. Jesse Eisenberg is a great Lex Luthor.

The first Avengers film was stunningly good. Kicking off the Justice league we see Batman vs Superman is a far weaker film than The Avengers but still worth the price of admission.

Rating:  7 out of 10

No Islamist Burqas
Kurdish PDKI Peshmerga Women

"Terrorist" but Socialist Kurds
Attack Islamist Iran

  • Call me a "Crazy Blogger" (which I am), but I see a pattern here.
  • Secular Socialist Muslim political movements that allow women to get an education, a job, drive a car and not wear a burqa have either been declared terrorists by the U.S. or attacked by us.
  • The U.S. armed the Islamist Mujahideen of Afghanistan under Osama Bin Laden to overthrow the secular Communist government of Afghanistan. The U.S. has declared the secular Socialist/Communist Kurdish PKK to be terrorists. The U.S. overthrew the secular Socialist Iraqi Ba'ath Party allowing the spread of Islamism. Now the U.S. wants the overthrow of the secular Socialist Ba'ath Party of Syria and has been arming ISIS and the other Islamist groups with the help of head chopping Islamist Saudi Arabia.  But I am just a crazy blogger. What do I know?

(Business Insider)  -  Reports have emerged that Kurdish insurgents attacked Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) troops near the country’s border with Iraq, an incident only briefly mentioned by Iranian media.
Media outlets based in the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan Regional Government reported on the Wednesday fighting, with ARA News saying that Kurdish combatants staged an assault against IRGC troops in the villages of Hamran, Myouni and Sartaja outside the border town of Sardasht.
“This led the Iranian forces to [deploy] additional military reinforcements to the region in a bid to face the unexpected fierce offensive,” the news site added.
Rudaw News, in turn, cited witnesses in the three villages as saying that clashes were ongoing as helicopters circled overhead.
“At least 15 ambulances were seen rushing into areas where security forces were deployed,” the report also said.

Female Fighters of Kurdistan

Kurdish PDKI Peshmerga
Interesting
The U.S. calls secular Socialist Kurdish rebels who treat women as equals "terrorists".  But with the help of Islamist Saudi Arabia and Islamist Turkey the U.S. arms Islamist terrorists in Syria who treat women like crap.

Iranian media has remained mostly mum in its coverage of the fighting, however the state-controlled Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported Thursday that a funeral was held for two IRGC members killed in “clashes” in Sardasht.
However, the report did not go into further details on the violence.
As of yet, none of the anti-Tehran Kurdish factions based in the area have claimed credit for the military operation, however Saudi Arabia’s Al-Arabiya television quoted local activists as saying that fighters in from the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) took part in the deadly clashes.
The PDKI, for its part, touted the fighting on its official Twitter account, claiming on Wednesday that more than 10 IRGC soldiers had died in Sardasht.
It also said that two Iranian helicopters had deployed to the region in a bid to aid “a large group of Revolutionary Guards that [were] suffering heavy losses,” adding that Iranian troops were shelling positions in the Myouni mountains.
The PDKI—a left-wing Kurdish nationalist group formed in 1945—announced on February 26 that it was restarting its “armed resistance against the Islamic Republic of Iran” and claimed an attack against a Basij base in the village of Majid Khan.
The group waged a deadly insurgency against Iranian authorities from 1989 to 1996, after which it maintained a peaceful policy until it purportedly engaged Iranian troops in the fall of 2015.
Another Kurdish opposition faction in Iran, the Kurdistan Freedom Party, announced Friday that it too was resuming its armed operations in Iran.
“Iran is at the doorstep of a wide-scale armed uprising… that will include all off its cities,” the commander of the PAK’s armed wing, Hussein Yazdanpana, told Asharq Alawsat.

A
Everyone Fears a Free Kurdistan
Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran all oppose a free Kurdistan that would unite the Kurdish peoples into one nation.
.
The United States plays the usual games with the Kurds,  America claim to support the Kurds in Iraq against ISIS but somehow modern weapons just don't manage to make it to the Peshmerga troops.  Meanwhile the U.S. declares the Kurds across the border in Turkey to be terrorists for wanting a free Kurdistan.

Leftist Secular Komalah Kurds
The "terrorist" secular Socialist Komalah Kurds are fighting the Islamist government of Iran.  But, as usual, there is not even a whisper of support from the U.S.

Goodbye Allah, Hello Jesus

(Christian Today)  -  The woman who was believed to be the first Muslim to win the title when she was crowned Miss USA in 2010 has converted to Christianity.
Rima Fakih gave her life to Christ last month in the run-up to her marriage in Lebanon next week to Wassim Salibi, a wealthy music producer who is a Maronite Christian. Canadian singer The Weeknd, who is managed by Salibi, will perform at the wedding.
Fakih recently tweeted a verse from Philippians:

Fakih's faith was Shia Muslim but she attended a Catholic school.
In a Huffington Post interview in 2010 she said: "We're more of a spiritual family. Religion really doesn't define me or my family. My family's been very liberal, and we appreciate all different kinds of religions."
She added: "My brother-in-law is Christian, and he (and my sister) baptised their two sons. I have an uncle who converted to Christianity, and he's a priest now."
She said: "We'd go to church on Easter. We always had a Christmas tree and every year we go the Radio City Christmas Show, and watch Miracle on 34th Street. But we celebrate some of the Islamic holidays as well."
According to Albawaba, It was only when she went to university in the US that Fakih connected with her Muslim roots: "When I went to the University of Michigan, because there's more of a Muslim community, my dad wanted me to learn more about Islam," she said. "I didn't know much about Ramadan and other holidays, and my dad wanted me to take that opportunity and learn."
On social media, most responses have been supportive of her conversion.
After she won the top beauty pageant, Fakih was quoted as saying: "I'd like to say I'm American first, and I am an Arab-American, I am Lebanese-American, and I am Muslim-American." Some Muslim scholars at the time criticised her for entering the competition in the first place.
